DreamHack Open Summer 2019 [CS:GO]

We are heading towards the third DreamHack Open event this year. AVANGAR and mousesports clinched the last two titles, and the question is – who is going to be DreamHack Open Summer 2019 champion. Let’s see who are favorites for winning this event.

Format of the event and where to watch

Eight teams are going to take part in DreamHack Open Summer 2019. They will kick off on June 15th in Jönköping, Sweden and the champion will be known on June 17th. Matches will take place in Elmia Convention Center, but you also can watch them on DreamHack CS channel. The host will be Mark “Boq” Wilson, and there are going to be two analysts – Tom “Tombizz” Bissmire and Christin “poter” Chi, and four commentators.

Teams will be split into two different groups that are going to use GSL format. The best two teams from both groups are advancing further to Play-off. All matches are Best-of-3, except initial and winners matches that are Best-of-1.

Teams are going to play for $100,000 USD prize pool that is going to be distributed in the following way:

  • 1st: $50,000 USD
  • 2nd: $20,000 USD
  • 3rd-4th: $10,000 USD
  • 5th-6th: $3,000 USD
  • 7th-8th: $2,000 USD

What to expect

Although this is not one of the biggest CS:GO events, some very strong teams will take part in DreamHack Open Summer 2019. Aristocracy, AVANGAR, Tricked Esport and Winstrike Team will face each other in Group A. On the other side, CR4ZY, Chaos Esports Club, OpTic Gaming, and Team Ancient will play for the first two spots in Group B.

The clear favorite for topping Group A is AVANGAR who had the best results in the past than all mentioned teams. Alongside Winstrike Team, they are the only squad that participated at the last Major in Katowice.

On the other side, the best chances for claiming the number one spot has the Serbian team, CR4ZY who is in great shape. Hence, the battle for the title will be between these two teams.
