ECS Season 7 Finals Preview

ECS Season 7 Finals is going to be held in London, United Kingdom. It will feature eight teams who fought their way through European and American Online Series. It will start on June 6th and end on June 9th.

Who is going to play?

ECS Season 7 Finals is going to feature some of the best CS:GO teams in the world. The best team in the world, Astralis, will have a respectable competition, although their biggest rivals (NaVi, Team Liquid, and ENCE) will miss this tournament due to different reasons. NaVi and ENCE will miss this event because they didn’t want to play it, and Team Liquid failed to qualify after losing to MiBR in Series 5 Final.

Alongside Astralis, another Danish team managed to qualify for ECS Season 7 Finals, and that’s North. The last two teams from the European section are legendary Ninjas in Pyjamas and upcoming giants, Team Vitality.

American continent will be represented by two Brazilians and two North American teams: MiBR, FURIA, compLexity Gaming, and NRG Esports.

Format and technical details

ECS Season 7 Finals have a very simple format. All eight teams are going to be separated into two double-elimination groups. Firstly, they are going to play Best-of-1 matches in the opening round. Afterward, all matches are going to be Best-of-3. The best two teams from each group proceed further to Single-elimination Play-offs.

When it comes to prize money, all teams will share $500,000 US according to their result. Hence, the winner gets the biggest piece of cake.

All matches will take place in SSE Arena, Wembley. Considering that Online series didn’t implement a new map into their map pool, ECS Season 7 Finals will have Cache instead of Vertigo in their map pool.

For now, we know there will be at least two streams: one in English and one in Russian. However, it’s probable that there will be more than these two.
