LCS Summer 2019
One of the two biggest Summer League of Legends events will start off on the first of June in Los Angeles. The best North American teams are going to play for $100,000 and place in World Championship 2019.
What do you need to know about LCS Summer 2019?
LCS Summer is going to be played from June 1st to date that is still unknown. Regardless, we know that teams will play Group Stage from the beginning of the event to August 4th. Accordingly, Play-offs won’t start before the beginning of August.
There are 10 teams competing for the title. They will begin in one Double Round Robin Group, so they are going to play 18 matches in total. All matches in the Group Stage are Best-of-1. At the end of the Group Stage, two best teams proceed directly to Semi-final, while 3rd-6th teams advance to Quarter-finals. When Quarter-final matches end, the team who topped the group can choose their opponents in Semi-final.
All matches in Play-off are Best-of-5. The winner of the whole event earns $100,000 and directly qualifies for World Championship 2019. Other teams get points that they need to qualify for the same event.
Here is how money and points are distributed:
- 1st: $100,000
- 2nd: $50,000 + 90 points
- 3rd-4th: $25,000 + 55 points
- 5th-6th: $0 + 20 points
LCS Summer 2019 can be watched on three different Twitch channels in three different languages: English, French, and Polish. There you can listen to comments of Dash, MarkZ, Hai, CaptainFlowers, and so on.
Who has the best chances to win the event?
Squads are not determined yet, but nevertheless, we can say a few words about favorites for winning the title in Los Angeles. The biggest favorite for the winning the LCS Summer 2019 is undoubtedly Team Liquid who won LCS Spring against Team SoloMid in the Grand Final. Also, Team Liquid won LCS Summer last year and played final of Mid-Season Invitational. So, they definitely have the best chances to win the title in Los Angeles.
Their biggest rivals are going to be Cloud9 and Team SoloMid who are the two other best NA teams at the moment. Cloud9 played Semi-finals of LCS Spring 2019 and World Championship last year. They continuously record good results, so they are contenders for the title as well as Team SoloMid who played two consecutive LCS Finals.
