ESL introduced the new season’s regular season for professional teams, according to which the number of participants in all regions was increased to sixteen, and matches for America and Europe will not be played online, as in the last eight championship series, but in studio conditions.

The format of the regular season ESL Pro League S9:

  • European Division (8 slots on EPL S9 Finals)

Round 1: Four groups of four teams. The winners of the groups go to the world final. Second and third places go to the second round.
Round 2: Two groups of four teams. The first and second places are held at the world final.

  • American Division (6 slots on EPL S9 Finals)

Round 1: Four groups of four teams (three groups for representatives of North America and one group for representatives of South America). The winners of the groups go to the world final. Second and third places go to the second round.
Round 2: Two groups of four teams. The winners of the groups go to the world final.

  • Asia Pacific Division (2 slots on EPL S9 Finals)

Round 1: Four groups of four teams (two groups for representatives of Oceania, one group for representatives of China and one group for representatives of Southeast Asia). The first and second group places go to the second round.
Round 2: Two groups of four teams (one group for representatives of Oceania and one group for representatives of China / Southeast Asia). The winners of the groups go to the world final.

 

The regular season of the ESL Pro League S9 will start on April 12 and will be held within the next four weeks. The strongest representatives of Europe, America and the Asia-Pacific region will compete for a cash prize at the world league final.
